Solid Square Pile is a type of precast concrete pile featuring steel strand prestressing for prestressed reinforcement, and boasts high horizontal bearing capacity and outstanding seismic performance, making it very promising for future use in various applications. Furthermore, its ductility can be significantly increased through adding ordinary hot-rolled deformed steel bars into its mix.
Design and test the flexural performance of a newly developed pile made with steel strands reinforced by ordinary hot-rolled deformed steel bars as main reinforcement, as well as develop a finite element analysis model based on full-scale tests to simulate its bending behavior. Both experimental data as well as numerical simulation demonstrated that PRS piles excelled compared with regular precast piles in terms of their high torsional capacity and displacement ductility, with superior results seen between experimental data analysis as well as experimental observations and numerical simulation results showing superiority over ordinary precast piles in terms of its superior flexural performance in terms of both capacity as displacement ductility and high torsional capacity and displacement ductility.
Although circular shaft helical piles have long been utilized in tension (pull) applications, they often fail when used for compression (lift). To address this problem, Tar Heel Basement Systems developed the Modular Helical Pile and Tieback that allows installers to change its helix configuration during installation to meet engineer-designed load requirements and prevent further foundation settlement.
This unique helical pile can be installed without drilling or excavation, saving both time and cost. Once in place, mechanical screws screw it into the soil at various depths and capacities to stabilize your home's foundation and lift your house back to its original position - ideal for both existing and new construction projects.
Traditional helical piles feature threaded outer helixes; in contrast, modular helix piles feature an uninterrupted steel tube running from shaft end all the way down to pile tip - creating an inherently stronger connection with soil than their counterparts.
Installers also benefit from its modular design, which enables them to adjust the direction of a helix by simply rotating its top pile, while length and helix diameter can also be expanded or contracted to meet desired design criteria. Terminations lengths can also be tailored according to need without additional drilling being necessary.
This new pile utilizes a special steel mold which ensures its size and appearance, its shape is smooth, easy to demould, and its protective layer thickness is very reasonable - manufacturing time of this new pile is no more than concurrent with that of conventional pipe piles; allowable deviation of solid pile lateral surface deviation is up to +-5mm while maximum tilt inclination angle at centerline of vertical center line should not exceed 10mm while its bend arrow height must not surpass 1%.
